Microsoft Lync 2010 and 2013 Client Startup Behaviour

posted 17 Jun 2013, 03:19 by Tristan Self
You may want to change the default behavour of the Lync client so that it appears to automatically start, so people know its there and want to use it.

The other key thing is to automatically populate the username box on Lync so that users for the first time don't need to know their name or email address, as this is automatically compelted for them, instead they just have to click on the sign-in button and away they go.

For 2010 Client

Hive HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key path Software\Microsoft\Communicator
Value name AutoRunWhenLogonToWindows
Value type REG_DWORD
Value data 0x0 (0)

(Targeted If NOT Managed Objects>Users>Staff)

Value data 0x1 (1)

(Targeted If Managed Objects>Users>Staff)

Hive HKEY_CURRENT_USER
