Disabling the Interactive Logon Message

Microsoft Windows

Sometimes the interactive logon message that you can apply to machines via GPO can get in the way. But you may not want to disable it for everyone just an OU, in which case configure this against a low down OU (i.e. one nearest the computer object) that will get precedence.

GPO

Computer Configuration

Policies

Windows Settings

Security Settings

Local Policies/Security Options

Interactive Logon

Interactive Logon message – Enable but leave message blank

Interactive Title – Enable and place double quotes\no space in field –> “”

Then stick your computer object in the OU, when it boots again you shouldn’t see a logon message, however for anyone else outside this OU they get it applied.
